How’s Your Judgement?
May 5, 2021
This winter and through the Spring, CRYouth is taking an in-depth look at the greatest recorded sermon of Jesus, so get ready for a mountain-top experience!
The Sermon on the Mount is often seen as a list of things we need to do in order to be called "Christians," but that interpretation couldn't be further from the truth. As we hear Jesus' teachings on the law, but in light of the new covenant, we see that he is calling us not to do, but to be. Saving faith comes from the finished work of Jesus and who he has made us to be as new creations, called and loved by him.

Disciples of Jesus, Making Disciples of Jesus
CRYouth is a community of students who are seeking and seeking to apprentice under Jesus together. No matter where we are in our faith journey this a place to ask questions, a place to belong, a place to encourage one another, and a place to enjoy the way and the abundant life that Jesus offers.
Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers and example in speech, in conduct, in faith, in purity. (1 Timothy 4:12)
While we’re called to live out the mission of Jesus (Matthew 28:19-20), we can’t actually do that without first recognizing our own lostness and need for Him.
We’re given grace and strength not just for eternal salvation but for life now:
Salvation is an amazing gift and calling (2 Timothy 1:1-10) that God, in His mercy, has chosen to share with us, and none of us has ever done a thing to deserve it. Because of that incredible truth, we aim to live our lives the way Jesus did in and by His strength, abiding in His words and by his example, empowered by His Spirit.
Sometimes we forget that we need to move forward from the fact that Jesus is “the truth,” and also keep in mind that He is “the way” and “the life.’ (John 14:6) Our aim is to humbly live out what Jesus taught, as the greatest teacher of all time, and also how he lived as the perfect human.
Jesus called us to “go” and to “do,” (Matthew 28:19-20) so our aim is to publicly acknowledge that Christ is with us in our schools, our homes, on social media, on our couches, and in all of our lives. And as we acknowledge and share that truth with a world that’s lost, we trust that God will reach those He calls. Then we walk alongside those who He has called, striving together to better know, share, and live out the love of Jesus.
